The Seward Arts Council was formed on January 17th, 1974, it was created to promote, support and coordinate local arts events in Seward and Seward County, Nebraska.

It’s vision is to create a diverse and energetic arts destination that embraces its historic heritage. It inspires and cultivates creativity by visually enhancing the landscape of the community and impacting and engaging economic growth and vibrant awareness that the Arts are alive in Seward

5th Street Summer Music Series 2026  Historic Bandshell in Seward, NE

The 5th Street Summer Music Series celebrates the art of music as a way to bring people together and energize our Creative District. With live local bands, kids’ activities, food trucks, and interactive arts experiences, these free events offer something for everyone. Each concert helps strengthen community bonds and supports the continued growth of Seward’s arts‑driven economy.

High School Art Show

The Seward High School Portfolio Class, taught by Nate Knott, presents a dynamic student art exhibition that gives young artists firsthand experience in a professional gallery setting within the Seward Creative District. Through this showcase, students share their creative work while learning how art spaces operate and contribute to a thriving cultural community. The exhibition reflects the District’s vision to foster economic growth and community vitality by encouraging diverse expression and celebrating the innate creativity of every individual.

High School Scholarship

Every year, the Seward Arts Council is proud to offer a scholarship to a Seward County student who will be pursuing a higher education in the arts. 

Poetry Out Loud Contest Sponsor

Poetry Out Loud encourages teens to learn about poetry through memorization and recitation. The program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. Poetry Out Loud is an exciting way to bring poetry alive for both students and teachers.
